The National Eating Disorders Association (www.NationalEatingDisorders.org)came into being in 2001, when Eating Disorders Awareness & Prevention (EDAP) joined forces with the American Anorexia Bulimia Association (AABA) to create the largest eating disorders prevention and advocacy organization in the world. The merger was the most recent in a series of alliances that has also included the National Eating Disorder Organization (NEDO) and Anorexia Nervosa & Related Disorders (ANRED). Each organization has contributed years of valuable experience, unique programming, and the commitment of the field’s most renowned clinicians, educators and researchers to create a unified force in the fight against eating disorders.

The Eating Disorders Referral and Information Center (www.EdReferral.com) is dedicated to the prevention and treatment of eating disorders.  They provide information and treatment resources for all forms of eating disorders.  They also provide referrals to eating disorder practitioners, treatment facilities, and support groups.  Referrals to eating disorder specialists are offered at no charge as a community service.

National Association of Anorexia Nervosa & Associated Disorders (www.anad.org) was officially launched in 1976. ANAD is a non-profit corporation that seeks to prevent and alleviate the problems of eating disorders, especially including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating disorder. It is the oldest eating-disorder organization in the nation.
